Dear Cheryl,

As you know, it has been nearly a year since your personal injury lawsuit was filed against Yum! Brands et al and about 7 months since I sent the companies' insurer, Liberty Mutual, a letter putting them on notice that, unless you are treated with respect and fairly, my organization would help expose their shoddy treatment of you. Since then we have discovered a plethora of complaints of how Liberty Mutual unfairly exploits other accident victims as well.

In my March 13, 2017 letter to Liberty Mutual CEO David Long and Yum! Brands CEO Greg Creed, I made it clear that the public is sick and tired of watching corporations guilty of negligence, who along with their insurance companies, try to shortchange victims like you while providing lavish compensation to their executives.

I also raised issue with Liberty Mutual's pitiful offer to cover your medical and other costs, and the negligence that led to your disfigurement, disability and lifelong pain as nothing short of contempt for you and your future well-being. Their offer was followed with a statement to you from a Liberty Mutual representative saying, "This is what we offer those in the Detroit area." The public must ask, "Is Liberty Mutual's Detroit policy due to the fact that 83% of those residing in the City are African American?"

In response to your lawsuit, Yum! Brands et al have the gall to falsely suggest that the accident or injuries were caused in whole or in part by you and that your ability to function was impaired due to the consumption of alcohol and/or a controlled substance, thus rendering you more than 50% at fault. This would preclude you from recovering damages from the defendants. In addition, the corporate defendants, worth billions of dollars, are seeking that you pay costs, attorney fees, and all other expenses incurred in their defense. They also continue to downplay the severed end of your dominant index finger as a pinched finger! The photo on the www.justiceforcheryyharris.org website certainly dispels that lie.

Additionally, the paltry offers by Liberty Mutual to settle any injury claims, especially in light of the fact that Medicaid has placed a lien on any settlement you obtain to recoup medical expenses, is insulting to say the least.

It should come as no surprise to you, that further investigation of Liberty Mutual has found countless examples of policyholders and other victims of Liberty Mutual who feel they have been misled, lied to and defrauded. We have quoted many such victims complaints on our website www.justiceforcherylharris.org. These complaints will be greatly expanded.

Victims describe Liberty Mutual as "crooks" and a "sham" and compare them to the "mafia." They say "Liberty Mutual should be investigated for insurance fraud, sued for illegal practices and that "The government needs to step in and shut these clowns down for good!"

We feel that Liberty Mutual's handling of your case is clearly representative of the widespread shameful conduct of Liberty Mutual to defraud victims in order to rake in excessive profits.

Because their corruption is so blatant and widespread, we have decided, beginning next month, to make Liberty Mutual and your case a focus of a national expose of corrupt and fraudulent behavior that needs to be curtailed in the insurance industry.

I hope we can help you and others obtain the justice you deserve!

Sincerely,

Ray Rogers
Director
